Privacy Policy

Career Voyage is a personal study-progress tracker. This page describes the data the service actually collects and how it is used.

What we collect

When you sign in with Google we store your Google account id, email address, name, and profile photo URL so we can create your account and show who is signed in.

Everything you add in the app is stored on your account: courses and study logs, certifications and any certificate files you upload (PDF, PNG, or JPEG), habits, projects, interview-prep notes, plan settings, and holiday dates.

If you turn on a public profile we also store the display name, headline, bio, and links you choose, plus which completed courses and passed certifications you mark as visible.

How it is used

Your data is used only to run Career Voyage: keep you signed in, calculate your roadmap and pace, and (if you enable it) show a public page at a unique link. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

If you paste a YouTube link when adding a course, the server may call the YouTube Data API to look up the title and duration. We do not connect to your YouTube account.

Where it is stored

The app is hosted on Vercel. Account and study data live in a Neon Postgres database. Certificate and profile images are stored in private Vercel Blob storage and are served only after an ownership check (or, for items you have marked public, through a short-lived signed link). Sessions use a signed cookie via Auth.js / NextAuth.

What is public

Your study plan is private by default. A public profile is off until you enable it. Visitors then see only the name, bio, links, and the specific items you chose to show — not your logs, habits, or unfinished work.

Access and deletion

You can edit or delete courses, logs, certifications, files, habits, and profile fields in the app. To close the account entirely, email hello@careervoyage.app from the Google account you sign in with and ask for deletion.
